      The Fighting 69th

The Evening Record on April 22, 1918 reported that an employee of
Dr. Harry G. MacDonald, Peter P. McArdle, who boarded on
State Street with Mrs. Henry Klein of 17 Byrne Street was on a casualty list.  It is not known from the article whether he was killed or wounded, but in either case he would have received the
Purple Heart.  Peter P. McArdle had resided at this address for the past seven years.
